New Year's Eve NYC
Every New Year's Eve at Jivamukti Yoga School in NYC, we offer 3 hours of mauna (silent reflection) leading up to midnight. This free event gives New Yorker's a chance to be contemplative and set intentions for the new year. The entire school practices silence, from the cafe to the yoga rooms. You will find people meditating, journaling, resting, and passing notes to friends if communication is needed.
At midnight in the yoga asana rooms, Jivamukti teachers will lead the assembled guests in Sanskrit chanting, followed by thoughtful and uplifting messages from Jivamukti Yoga founders Sharon Gannon and David Life for the new year.
Most years there will be a master yoga class led by Sharon Gannon and David Life, and a holiday feast prepared by the Jivamuktea Café, preceding the Mauna.
